In Fagwara, a distressed individual due to a domestic dispute hanged himself; wife arrested based on brother's statement, and police are investigating the case.

A 48‑year‑old man troubled by a domestic dispute in Fagwara, Kapurthala district allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope. After the incident, the police filed a case against his wife based on the statement of the deceased’s brother and arrested her. The police are engaged in a thorough investigation of the entire case.

The deceased has been identified as Vishal Sharma (48), son of Tilak Raj, a resident of New Model Town, Fagwara. According to information, Vishal Sharma went to the upper floor of his house on Friday. Some time later, his son saw him hanging from a rope. The son immediately informed other family members. The relatives lowered Vishal and reported the incident to the police.

Upon receiving the information, Sub‑Inspector Amanpreet Kaur of Fagwara City Police, along with a police team, arrived at the scene. The police inspected the site, took possession of the body, and sent it to the civil hospital for a post‑mortem.

In a statement to the police, the deceased’s brother Rahul Sharma said that Vishal Sharma had been having a domestic dispute with his wife Anju Sharma for some time. The two frequently quarreled. Based on the complaint, the police filed a case against Anju Sharma and arrested her.

Sub‑Inspector Amanpreet Kaur said that every aspect of the case is being investigated to determine the true reasons behind the suicide.
