Gold Turns Cheap! Jewelry Markets Reawakened on Karva Chauth-Dhanteras, Sales Surge by Up to 12%

28 OCTOBER: NEW DELHI: As gold prices eased, jewelry markets are again bustling with activity.

With the approach of major festivals such as Karva Chauth and Dhanteras, footfall in prominent jewelry markets like Chandni Chowk, Dariba Kalan, and Kucha Mahajan in the capital has increased. According to traders in the market, inquiries related to purchases have surged nearly fourfold in the past two days, while jewelry sales have risen by 10 to 12 percent.

The price drop has spurred purchases.

The recent easing of gold prices has encouraged customers to shop. While investors are showing interest in gold coins and bars, people preparing for weddings and other celebrations are visiting the market to purchase jewelry. Jewelers say that inquiries and bookings have also accelerated in recent days.
