Punjabi man in California charged with wife's murder, false kidnapping story fabricated under ICE's name.

16 October Jalander/California: Punjabi‑origin Gurinder Gill, residing in California, accused of murdering his wife Jasmine Gill, kidnapping, and fabricating a false story involving the U.S. Immigration Agency ICE to mislead police.

According to media reports, the relationship between Gurinder Gill and Jasmine Gill was strained. There was also a legal dispute over divorce and child custody.

1 October 2026: Burnt Body Found
According to the report, on 1 October 2026, police in California’s El Dorado County found a burnt human body. After initial investigation, forensic examination and DNA testing were conducted to identify the corpse. The investigation confirmed that the body belonged to the missing Jasmine Gill.

Accusation of Misleading Under the Name of ICE
It is alleged that Gurinder Gill fabricated a kidnapping and a false story involving the U.S. Immigration Agency ICE to mislead the police. Following the progression of the investigation and the emergence of evidence, the police took action in the case.

Accused Arrested, Investigation Ongoing
According to media reports, after the identity of Jasmine Gill’s body was established, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gurinder Gill. Evidence was also reportedly recovered from his residences.
