Asian Games 2026: Indian women's hockey team beats Thailand 20-1

Indian women's hockey team registers a massive 20-1 victory over Thailand at Asian Games 2026.

The Indian team displayed aggressive play from the start in the Pool B match held in Kakamigahara, Japan, securing a spectacular win against Thailand. Drag Flicker Deepika made the biggest impact by scoring nine goals on her own.

Deepika’s goal spree at Asian Games 2026

In the Kakamigahara match, Deepika delivered a stellar performance for India. She scored in the 2nd, 8th, 9th, 24th, 33rd, 36th, 39th, 51st and 57th minutes.

Thus, Deepika netted a total of nine goals in the match. Her consecutive strikes kept pressure on Thailand’s defence and played a crucial role in giving the Indian team a huge lead.

Navneet Kaur also contributed four goals

India’s experienced forward Navneet Kaur also shone in the match. She scored the first goal for India in the 4th minute and added goals in the 29th, 35th and 51st minutes.

Navneet scored a total of four goals and made a vital contribution to India’s big win.

Rutva Pisal scored three goals

Rutva Pisal also delivered an excellent performance against Thailand, strengthening India’s lead by scoring in the 10th, 11th and 47th minutes.

In addition, seasoned midfielder Neha scored a goal for India in the 19th minute.

Other Indian players who also scored

From the Indian side, Lalremsiyami scored in the 26th minute. Sakshi Rana added a goal in the 29th minute, and captain Salima Tete extended the score in the 45th minute.

Thailand’s team appeared under considerable pressure against India’s relentless attacks.

Only one goal for Thailand

Thailand’s Impa Kunjira scored the sole goal in the 49th minute, but by then India had already built a substantial lead.

Thailand could not reduce India’s advantage thereafter, and the match ended with a dominant 20-1 scoreline in India’s favour.

With this victory, the Indian women’s hockey team’s unbeaten run at Asian Games 2026 continued. Earlier, India had defeated Uzbekistan 19-0, and later recorded a 17-1 win over Thailand.

Now, with the emphatic 20-1 triumph, the Indian women’s hockey team has sustained its strong performance in the tournament. Deepika’s nine goals and the team’s aggressive play made this match a memorable one for India.
